Terms of Use and Pre-Release Testing Agreement

Effective Date: April 1, 2020

These Terms apply to Adrullan Online Adventures accounts and participation in pre-alpha, alpha, beta, closed testing, open testing, and other pre-release versions of Adrullan Online Adventures ("AOA," "Adrullan," "the Game," "we," "us," or "our").

Adrullan Online Adventures is actively under development. Pre-release access is provided for testing and development purposes and should not be treated as access to a finished commercial product.

By creating an account, accessing a pre-release build, or participating in testing, you agree to these Terms.

1. Pre-Release Software

Adrullan is unfinished software.

Features may be incomplete, broken, unbalanced, missing, experimental, temporarily disabled, or substantially changed without notice.

Servers may be unavailable. Bugs may cause loss of characters, items, progression, settings, or other data.

Participation in testing does not create any promise that a feature, character, item, class, quest, zone, system, or other content will exist in the released game.

2. Accounts

Each account is intended to have a single human operator.

Account sharing, transfer, sale, or other use by another person is not permitted unless specifically authorized by the Adrullan development team.

Each human tester must maintain their own authorized account.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for keeping your credentials secure.

3. Multi-Boxing

During pre-release testing, a single player may operate multiple game clients, characters, or accounts at the same time when permitted by the current test rules.

Permission to multi-box during testing does not guarantee that multi-boxing will be permitted under the same rules after release.

Automation, unattended play, botting, or other forms of automated gameplay are not authorized merely because multi-boxing is permitted.

4. Virtual Characters, Items, and Progress

Characters, items, currency, equipment, names, progression, achievements, account flags, and other virtual game data provided during testing have no monetary value and create no ownership interest or guaranteed entitlement.

They exist only as part of the testing service.

We may modify, remove, replace, reset, rollback, or delete any game data at any time.

All pre-release characters and progression are subject to deletion before the commercial launch of Adrullan Online Adventures.

Additional wipes may occur before then.

Do not participate in testing with an expectation that a character, item, name, currency balance, achievement, or progression state will be preserved.

5. Real-Money Trading and Transfers

The following are prohibited unless we expressly authorize them:

  • Selling or purchasing Adrullan accounts

  • Trading or transferring accounts between people

  • Selling or purchasing characters

  • Selling or purchasing items or currency for real-world money or other consideration

  • Exchanging pre-release access for money or other compensation

  • Operating a marketplace for Adrullan accounts, characters, items, or currency

We may remove associated accounts, characters, items, or currency without compensation.

6. Bugs, Exploits, and Testing

Finding bugs is part of testing. Exploiting them for personal advantage is not.

If you discover a significant exploit, duplication bug, security issue, unintended movement technique, economy exploit, or similar problem, report it to the development team.

Once sufficient information has been collected to reproduce an issue, repeatedly exploiting it may result in removal from testing.

Attempting to hide or intentionally abuse an undisclosed exploit may result in immediate termination of access.

Authorized testing does not give permission to attack infrastructure, interfere with other users, evade security systems, or access systems or information outside the scope of the test.

7. Conduct

Testing access is a privilege rather than an entitlement.

We expect testers to interact constructively with other players and the development team.

Harassment, intentionally disruptive behavior, malicious training or griefing, exploit abuse, attempts to provoke community drama, or other behavior we determine to be harmful to the testing environment may result in removal.

We may use moderation and account sanctions when we believe they are necessary to protect the testing environment, community, game, or development process.

8. Closed-Test Confidentiality

Closed testing may contain unfinished or unannounced content.

Unless we have opened a particular test or feature for public sharing, closed testers may not publicly distribute screenshots, videos, streams, recordings, unreleased game information, or detailed descriptions of non-public content without permission.

Streaming or promotional sharing of closed-test content must be coordinated with the Adrullan team.

Different sharing rules may be announced for open tests, events, or specific builds. Those rules supersede this section for that test.

9. Access and Termination

We may grant, suspend, restrict, or revoke pre-release access at our discretion.

We may remove testers because of misconduct, inactivity, security concerns, test-capacity needs, development changes, violations of these Terms, or other reasons relating to operation of the test.

Pre-release access does not create a contractual guarantee of continued access to future tests or to the released game.

Termination of test access does not entitle a user to restoration of characters, items, progression, or other virtual data.

10. Data Preservation

We make reasonable efforts to operate our services and preserve useful testing information, but pre-release data should be considered temporary.

We do not guarantee preservation of:

  • Accounts during development migrations

  • Characters

  • Items

  • Currency

  • Progression

  • Quests or flags

  • Settings

  • Test history

  • Other pre-release game state

Maintenance, migrations, server failures, bugs, rollbacks, development changes, or intentional wipes may result in data loss.

11. Support

Pre-release testing is not a commercial customer-support environment.

Support may be limited, informal, delayed, or unavailable.

We may be unable to troubleshoot individual hardware, operating-system, antivirus, firewall, VPN, network, driver, or third-party software issues.

Bug reports and feedback are appreciated but do not create an obligation to provide an individual response or implement a requested change.

12. Feedback

You may provide bug reports, gameplay feedback, suggestions, balancing comments, screenshots, recordings, or other feedback relating to Adrullan.

You give us permission to use that feedback for the development, testing, promotion, and improvement of Adrullan Online Adventures without an obligation to compensate you.

You remain responsible for ensuring that material you submit is yours to provide.

13. Availability and Warranty

Pre-release Adrullan services are provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We do not promise uninterrupted operation, compatibility, particular performance, preservation of game data, freedom from bugs, or availability of any particular feature.

Testing software may fail. That is one of the reasons the test exists.

14. Changes

The Game, testing rules, account systems, and these Terms may change as development continues.

We may publish revised Terms when necessary. Continued participation after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
