Cleric Codex System Early Testing
Overview
Introducing the Codex system for the Cleric, this class defining feature is now in early testing.
*Note: The first codex may be obtained by speaking to Andrin Quillsmith at the Leont Cleric Guild when you are level 10.*
Key Features
Codex Items
- New class-specific items for Clerics that are found through different avenues adventuring through Adrullan (e.g. quests, drops, crafted)
- Six types corresponding to different Aspect Deities
- Only one Codex can be equipped at a time
- Activated runes are reset when a codex is unequipped
Rune Activation Mechanic
- Codex displays three activatable Runes in a small UI window
- Runes activate randomly when casting healing spells
- Runes expire out of combat after a brief time
Codex Effects
- Lesser Effect: Triggered by expending 1 rune
- Greater Effect: Triggered by expending all 3 runes
- Each Codex type has unique Lesser and Greater Effects
Passive Blessing
- Each Codex provides a unique passive effect to the wearer
- Undetermined: Blessing strength scales with the number of active Runes
TODO
- High level cleric triggering runes off low level heal scaling formula
- Codex passive blessings
- Give a longer time window for when runes start to deactivate out of combat; currently it's one per tick
- Replace placeholder art for UI element
- Implement remaining Codex types, currently only one added, possible 6 total planned as of now
Balancing, and trigger percentages (as well as the mechanic as a whole) will need thorough discussion, please feel free to report feedback.
