Bind Wound
We have made some changes as we looks towards setting up Bind Wound for it's intended advancements and class aptitudes. To that end some major structural changes have occurred with the skill.
- Bind wound can only be started when both parties are not in combat (both the bandager and the person being bandaged)
- Instead of clicking a 'Bind Wound' ability, you now right click the bandage item in your inventory, or move the bandage item to your hotbar
- The bandage item dictates what percent HP the bandage will heal for and what the minimum bandage skill is
- The player's bandage skill determines the amount of time taken to bandage
We believe this will offer a nice balance / tradeoff between speed / efficiency / how many items are being used / etc and leaves lots of room open for milestones and future enhancements. For example the basic Cotton Bandage heals for 8% HP, takes and takes 10 seconds to complete. By leveling your bandage skill to 25, you can reduce this time to 5 seconds.

Internal
Testing Auto Leveling NPC
In order to make testing less cumbersome for the closed testers, the Alpha Corpse Summoner will now level any character up to the highest level of that class you have ever obtained on the account. Only basic melee / casting skills will be maxed out for the level.

QUEST Tag Removal
With this patch we are moving forward with our plan to remove the QUEST tag from item tooltips. This tag was intended to help indicate items that are utilized in quests, a great indication to a player to hang onto it! However, we like reuse of our items. Interesting RPG noise. Tons of Crafting resources. This caused a lot of problems where players were hanging on to items that weren't for their Race / Class, or to simple Crafting Reagents and Vendor Loot just due to it being used in some small repeatable quest. To that end, this tag was causing more frustration than assistance. We feel that our UI/UX and feedbacks systems are maturing in such a way that we can deliver information about item usage while remaining more in context and without causing ambiguities. We will continue to work to improve clarity and provide systems to help players feel a little more secure when making inventory decisions.
Crafting Failures
As we continue to refine and hone in on our crafting system, we have made the choice to omit failure. We believe the current system delivers a compelling and rewarding ark wherein you must complete the Recipe Research, gather the necessary materials, find an appropriate Crafting Station, prepare the components, and wait for results. Failure does more to sour that experience than enhance it. With that in mind, we have removed the ability to fail when crafting a recipe. Due to this, all Recipes have a hard minimum skill required and are no longer created on a curve. We will monitor and further consider the ramifications of the decisions in the grander scheme, addressing as needed.

Crafting Rewrite
Core crafting systems have been rewritten to harden systems and improve extensibility. The player facing results are few, but quite welcomed. You will now receive crafting experience updates as items are crafted instead of at the time of collection regardless of the status of your crafting station or even your login status (with the caveat of some crafting recipes being Active which requires you to remain at the station). Additionally the crafting window has gotten a pass improving quality and now including a recipe panel presenting the requirements and results in a clear understandable way. We are excited about this rewrite and the future additions we have planned for the crafting system with this refactor in place.

Death Mechanics: The Experience of Loss and the Loss of Experience
In patch 0.8.12, we're excited to introduce the next phase of our death mechanics plan, as outlined in the 0.8.1 patch notes. Building upon the Adventurer's Backpack system, we're implementing experience loss and level down mechanics to create a more immersive and consequential world in Adrullan Online Adventures.
Starting at level 10, players will lose experience points upon death, equivalent to 15% of the current level's experience requirement. This means that you can now lose your level if the experience loss brings you below the current level's threshold. By maintaining experience penalties and level loss, we aim to preserve the significance of content and exploration while discouraging zerg tactics.
To balance the impact of experience loss, we've introduced a corpse looting mechanic that allows you to recover half (7.5%) of the lost experience simply by retrieving your Inventory from your corpse. This ties in with our planned Resurrection spell improvements, where more classes will gain access to spells that function as a summon to corpse at lower levels. By looting your corpse after being resurrected, you'll be able to minimize the experience lost from death.
As mentioned in the 0.8.1 notes, Resurrection spells will tier up, with the highest tier recovering 100% of the remaining lost experience (the full 7.5%). This ensures that players have multiple options to mitigate the impact of death on their progression, even if they can't retrieve their corpse directly.
We're committed to continually enhancing the death mechanics in Adrullan Online Adventures. As outlined in our original design, you can look forward to additional tools and systems focused on corpse and item recovery in future updates, further streamlining the process and minimizing frustration while maintaining world integrity and social reliance.
Please note that these mechanics are in their earliest iterations and tie into several other systems. We fully expect to adjust all the details provided. Our aim is to strike a balance between meaningful consequences and player enjoyment, and we'll continue to refine these systems.
